This minimalist design features a wooden base with clean lines that play second fiddle to the live edge quilted Alder top. Gifted to me, this piece of quilted alder is something special. Quilting refers to a type of figuring in the wood grain that is reminiscent of a wavy quilted pattern; similar to ripples on the water. Working with the beauty of the quilted alder, my goal was to simply create a piece that let the wood speak for itself. A simple, yet elegant base was the answer. Several butterflies were used to enhance the overall structure of the bench and draw the eye to the highly figured areas. Simple with a large presence. BUILD | BEAUTIFUL
